With the release of dbCAMS+ version 5.5, the system is now Vista compliant and 64-bit compatible. Listed below are just a few of the exciting new features available since that release. We continually enhance the system to provide additional tools and features. Please be sure to download program changes on a routine basis to implement the latest enhancements.
Client Inception Date Option
Released in Program Change 055. the Client Inception Date, located on the Global Options tab of the Enhanced Client Financial Reports, allows you to specify the First Transaction date or Contract Management Date as the starting point for reports. The default setting for the new option is First Transaction, which results in no change from previous functionality. Selecting Contract Management Date will cause the system to utilize the client's Contract Management Date as the start date for reports using Since Inception as the selected beging date (similar to functionality present in the standard PCS). In addition, the system will use this date to "qualify" clients and activity for reports utilizing Effective Date, Contract Management Date, Period, or Date Range date selections.

Changes within the system include an Update VMA button, visible on Client records with an established Web PIN that allows information for only that client to be uploaded to the VMA Web site. The VMA Upload Wizard located under the Tools menu, was also revised to accommodate the site preference settings established through the new Admin level login.
Additional Enhanced Client Reports Released
As of Program Changes 27, 32, and 37, three additional client reports are available through the Enhanced Client Financial Reports menu.
The Enhanced PCS reports portfolio gains, growth, performance, and activity for up to four periods of time and consists of multiple reports that can be included or excluded based on your needs. The Performance Summary page provides portfolio activity values for up to four periods of time, a graphical breakdown of the portfolio, and statistical and graphical representations of IRR and/or TWR returns along with comparative benchmark indices. If your client's cash flow history is out of balance, a Summary Balancing page prints automatically. The Investment Activity page shows transaction activity for the primary date range. The Offset Worksheet groups transactions for easy identification of offsetting transactions and can simplify the process of finding and resolving PCS balancing errors.
The Management Fee Invoice calculates a client's fee based on the fee schedule attached to either the Client or Owner record. The Allocation by Asset report displays each asset's prorata share of the management fee.
The Dividend and Interest Report summarizes a client's interest, dividend, gain, and foreign tax paid transactions. The report is broken down by asset within Owner and can be helpful when assembling a client's investment income for tax purposes. The Summary report displays totals for the client's taxable and non-taxable income, as well as income designated as taxable at the federal or state level for the current or previous year.
Ability to Edit State Tax Setting
The State Tax setting located on the System tab under the General Preferences has been modified to allow for editing. This change was released in Program Change 22.
Ability to Import all Funds Available through DST and/or DAZL
Released in Program Change 016... dbCAMS+ and Vestige+ clients now have the ability to import data from any investment available through the DST and/or DAZL interfaces. Fund companies have historically been petitioned to establish an interface with FCSI and pay the associated costs with the set up, coding, and translations necessary to properly import the data into our system. This has allowed us to offer the interface at no cost to our users. Some fund companies, however, have not contracted with FCSI to establish this direct interface, leaving our users without an alternative for electronically importing that data. To alleviate the situation, FCSI has developed those interfaces and makes them available to our users for a fee. E-mail sales@fcsi.com or call 877 432-2267 to learn how you can license all fund companies associated with each provider for a minimal yearly fee.
Enhanced Asset Allocation Report
The Asset Allocation report, available via the Client Financial Reports – Enhanced menu, was released in Program Change 010. The report is designed to compare actual values for each asset class with their targeted percentages and display whether the actual percentages are over or under targeted values. In addition to the report, full-page pie graphs are also available to graphically represent the client’s or owner’s current and targeted asset allocation.
Enhanced Portfolio Allocation Summary Report
As of Program Change 009, the Portfolio Allocation Summary report is now available via the Client Financial Reports – Enhanced menu. This report provides a consolidated view of how a client or owner's investments are presently allocated. It also contains a section detailing the portfolio's top investments based on Market Value or overall Rate of Return.
Do Not Auto Update Function Released for DST Interface
Released in Program Change 006, the DST Vendor interface now features a Do Not Auto Update function that allows a user to determine whether a manually entered TCode is overwritten when an interface table is distributed via the patching process.
MoneyGuidePro Planning Interface
As of Program Change 004, MoneyGuidePro, developed by PIE Technologies, is now available under the Interfaces, Planning Systems menu. The interface allows you to migrate existing dbCAMS+ owner, asset, and insurance data into MoneyGuidePro, where you can then choose a plan type to suit each client's needs. Its unique client-centered approach supports a sophisticated goal-oriented planning process that is more meaningful to the client and more productive for the advisor.
